Fragrant oils have been used for thousands of years as aphrodisiacs, mood enhancers, and for religious rituals and ceremonies. Approximately 6000 years ago fragrant oils were only allowed to be used by pharaohs and priests. Eventually the one queen of Egypt ordered that everyone douse themselves in oil at least once per week. People used to blend their bath waters with oils. Some would even bathe three times per day for sheer enjoyment and relaxation. Try our own blend of salt and oils in our Bathsalts section if you enjoy the aroma of oils in your bath water. Today perfumes are still made from those original oils; frankincense, myrrh, amber, sandalwood, musk, and lily to name a few.
